The Bombay Flying Club is Pioneer Organization in Indian aviation field and India’s premier aviation institute approved by the Director General of civil aviation (DGCA), Government of India New Delhi, for imparting “Aircraft Maintenance engineering” course in Mechanical (B1.1 & B1.2) and Avionics Stream (B2).
As per statutory requirement a commercial aircraft can be released for flying only after being certified by suitably qualified Aircraft Maintenance Engineer.
AME course comprises two streams - Mechanical and Avionics.
Aircraft Maintenance Engineering courses Mechanical Stream (Aeroplane and Powerplants) as well as Aircraft Maintenance Engineering courses Avionics Stream (Electrical, Instrument, and Radio Navigation Systems).
AME course is a 2 years course divided in 4 Semesters. The student will be issued with Certificate of Recognition after successful completion of the course.
2 years course implies of 60% Theory and 40% practical (Inhouse and Outsourced training), the practical training also includes 360 hours of hands on practical training carried out in DGCA CAR-145 approved Aircraft Maintenance Organization (e.g. AIR INDIA, GOAIR, SPICE JET, AIRWORKS INDIA, MAX MRO etc) for B 1.1 (AEROPLANE TURBINES) (B1.2 AEROPLANE PISTONS) and (Avionics) B2 categories.
Students are required to pass the semester exams of the Institute along with DGCA Modular Examinations.

AME intake capacity of student is 60 for mechanical stream and 30 for Avionics stream.
For students impart Structured Actual Environmental Practical Training to support the practical training we have Agreements with Air India (Airbus Group) / Air India (Boeing Group) / GO AIR / AIR WORKS INDIA / MAX MRO Mumbai. BFC students are going for On Job Training (OJT) to these companies for aircraft maintenance, repairs and overhaul, aircraft management services, line maintenance services etc.
Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Mechanical
Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Mechanical Stream is related with AEROPLANE TURBINES & AEROPLANE PISTONS.
This is a 2 years course divided into 4 Semesters and consists of theoretical and practical training. Intake capacity of student is 30 per year.
Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Avionics
Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Avionics stream is related to Electrical System (ES), Instrument System (IS) & Radio Navigation System (RN). This is a 2 years course divided into 4 Semesters and consists of theoretical and practical training. Intake capacity of
student is 30 per year.
