Welcome to The Bombay Flying Club

The Bombay Flying Club is Pioneer Organization in Indian aviation field and India’s premier aviation institute approved by the Director General of civil aviation (DGCA), Government of India New Delhi, for imparting “Aircraft Maintenance engineering” course in Mechanical (B1.1 & B1.2) and Avionics Stream (B2).

As per statutory requirement a commercial aircraft can be released for flying only after being certified by suitably qualified Aircraft Maintenance Engineer.

AME course comprises two streams - Mechanical and Avionics.

Aircraft Maintenance Engineering courses Mechanical Stream (Aeroplane and Powerplants) as well as Aircraft Maintenance Engineering courses Avionics Stream (Electrical, Instrument, and Radio Navigation Systems).

AME course is a 2 years course divided in 4 Semesters. The student will be issued with Certificate of Recognition after successful completion of the course.

2 years course implies of 60% Theory and 40% practical (Inhouse and Outsourced training), the practical training also includes 360 hours of hands on practical training carried out in DGCA CAR-145 approved Aircraft Maintenance Organization (e.g. AIR INDIA, GOAIR, SPICE JET, AIRWORKS INDIA, MAX MRO etc) for B 1.1 (AEROPLANE TURBINES) (B1.2 AEROPLANE PISTONS) and (Avionics) B2 categories.

Students are required to pass the semester exams of the Institute along with DGCA Modular Examinations.

Practical training consists of Line and Major Maintenance of aircraft and its components. Looking at today’s global expansion in aviation sector the future will offer immerse job opportunities to aircraft maintenance engineers in Airlines, Corporate sector and training academies in India & abroad.

BFC has got a comprehensive maintain approval from DGCA (Govt. of India) to maintain as well as to provide CAMO services to quite a few different types of Aircraft.
